Wildflowers in Bunbury

Bunbury is home to an exquisite range of wildflowers.  Delicate orchids and flowering native shrubs add amazing colour to natural bush surrounds between September and mid November. There are a number of places in and around Bunbury that offer wildflower displays not to be missed. The Bunbury Visitor Centre releases weekly wildflower reports during the season. Favoured Wildflower locations within the Bunbury region are:

Manea Park: (behind College Grove)

Along the trails see Slender Sun Orchids,( these Orchids have a long slim stem with often up to ten buds near the top of the stem, which open out to colours ranging from light blue through to light mauve), Common Mignonette Orchids, Buttercups, Kangaroo Paws, Dampiera, Wattle, Running Postman, Hibbertia, White and Pink Trigger Plants.

The Tuart Walk: (southern end of Ocean Drive)
Walk through the Tuart Forest on a sealed walkway and see Purple Fringed Lilies, Hibbertia, Hakeas, Wattle, False Boronia, Purple Tassels, Cotton Heads and Blue Squill.

Crooked Brook Forest: (Ferguson Valley/Dardanup area)
Enjoy a picnic here and walk the sealed path and see Slender Sun Orchids, Trigger Plants, Wild Pink Boronia, False Boronia, Knagaroo Paws, Yellow Candles, Clucky Chooks, Sundews, Damperia, Blue Leschenaultia, Hibbertia and Blue Squill.
