At the northern most point of the Geographe Bay is Wyalup-Rocky Point. The beachfront features Basaltic Rock, formed by a volcanic lava flow that is believed to have occurred 150 million years ago. The area is one of only two places in Western Australia where this rock can be seen above ground. The exposed basalt is on the ‘Back Beach’ near the lighthouse. Wyalup Rocky Point is landscaped with family facilities, which include barbecues, change-rooms and toilets. It is also popular fishing spot and you will experience breath-taking sunsets from this part of the coastline.
