Big Swamp Reserve

Situated off Prince Phillip Drive in the heart of the city,  it is here you will find a enticing wetland and parkland that is stomping ground for over 70 species of bird life. The Big Swamp Reserve is also home and breeding ground for long necked tortoises. For the keen bird watchers there is even a hide. A public open space the reserve is bordered by a 2 kilometre pathway with elevated boardwalks and viewing platforms.  

Across the road you will find the Big Swamp Wildlife Park where you will find kangaroo, emus, peacocks, rabbits, waterfowl and birds. There more than 40 species of Australian native birds and 7 species of marsupials. The wildlife park has a shop and café area as well as large grassed areas to sit and relax, enjoy a Barbecue or have picnic on the scenic grounds.
