The Geographe wine region surrounds the city of Bunbury and extends from the inland towns of Yarloop, Harvey, Collie and Donnybrook to the coast and south to Busselton. It was formally established in 1999 and takes its name from the French explorer - Nicholas Baudin’s ship – Le Geographe.
The Geographe wine region is bounded by the curve of the land on Geographe Bay and produces excellent shiraz, fine chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and semillon. The region is also becoming known for some alternative varieties particularly it’s Tempranillo and Nebbiolo.
The Geographe wine region is now home to a significant number of wineries with Cellar Doors. Each offers something unique and special and visitors are encouraged to come and meet the people of the region whilst sampling some truly fine wines.
